Born on February 13, 1944, in London, England, Springer moved to the United States with his family when he was five years old. He grew up in Queens, New York, and attended Northwestern University, where he earned a law degree.




After graduation, Springer worked as a political campaign adviser and a lawyer before becoming a news commentator and anchor. In 1991, he began hosting The Jerry Springer Show, a talk show that focused on controversial and sensational topics such as infidelity, paternity tests, and transvestites. The show became a cultural phenomenon, attracting a wide audience and generating high ratings.
